W Bro Steve O’Brien, the County Councillor for Bushey North and member of both West Hertfordshire Lodge No 8207 and Shyre Lodge No 9168, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for voluntary political service.
Steve 
was first elected to represent the counity in 1998 on Watford Borough Council, after which he was elected to Hertsmere Borough Council, followed by Herts County Council in 2009.
His Masonic career commenced in 1980 when he was Initiated into West Hertfordshire Lodge in 1980 and served as the Worshipful Master in 1988 and again in 2010, he was a founder member of Shyre Lodge and its Worshipful Master in 2002. Steve is also a member of Marble Arch Lodge which meets in London.
