The following announcement was made at Hertfordshire Masters Lodge (4090) this evening, 22nd April 2016 by the PGM.
“WM & Brethren,
V W Bro James Young has held active office in this Province for the past 21 years as variously, Steward, JGW, DepGDC, GDC, APGM and, since 2014, as DepPGM.
After a long and glittering Provincial career, Ann (James’s wife), and I have agreed that James will retire from office at the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting in September at which time I will have a little more to say but I do now wish to record my thanks and those of every member of the Province for his unstinting support over an extended period of time.
To succeed James as Dep PGM I am appointing W Bro David Ferris.
David is also very well known throughout the Province and I am delighted that he is with us here today following his recent indisposition.
To fill the vacancy thus created in the Executive I have invited W Bro Neil Connolly of Welwyn Garden City Lodge to be an APGM from next September.
Neil was Provincial Steward in 2008/2010 and Provincial JGW in 2012.
W Bro Ollie Wells will be appointed Prov SGW and W Bro Pat Dennehy Prov JGW.”
