Founder Members of the Lodge of Progress came from the Mother Lodge, Cranbourne No. 1580, which met at the Red Lion Hotel, Hatfield where the Lodge of Progress was consecrated. In 1932, the Lodge moved to the Red Lion, High Barnet until 1945, thence to Salisbsury Hotel, High Barnet. However, in 1970 the Lodge took up residence at the Southgate Masonic Centre. The Crest consisted of a Ships Wheel for steering, a Winged Wheel for search for truth, an Open Book for search for knowledge, and the Globe for universal coverage.
