Eight Brethren of the Lodge signed the petition and subsequently nineteen Founders commemorated a Provincial Grand Master of Hertfordshire, namely RW Bro The Rev. Dr. Joseph Moffett, a Church of Scotland Minister, by naming the Lodge after him. The Lodge Badge incorporates the Cross of St. Andrew, the Hart of Hertfordshire and other religious and Masonic symbols. The Lodge banner was subsequently dedicated on the 22nd April 1987.
