The Lodge was founded by Brethren associated with the construction and building industry and consecrated by RW Bro Guy M Halsey. Fraternal links were forged with the Brunel Lodge of Bristol and the Gooch Lodge and visits are still exchanged today. A Foundation Stone presented at the Consecration is used during Ceremonies of Initiation, Passing and at Installations. Speeches at the festive Board are minimised by using an egg timer and a wooden spoon is presented to an offender'. 'Auld Lang Syne' is sung after the Tyler's Toast.
