Consecration took place, under the sponsorship of Watford Lodge 404, at the Four Swan's Hotel, Waltham Cross, where the Lodge continued to meet for a number of years. In May 1875 attempts were made to move the meeting place to The Red Lion at Barnet, but the Gladsmuir Lodge, then meeting in Barnet, petitioned to the Provincial Grand Master protesting against the proposed move. The proposal was dropped and the meeting place was moved to Cheshunt Great House later that year.
