The idea of forming a Lodge to cover an apparent void in the Goffs Oak area of Hertfordshire was developed following a discussion between several eminent Members of the Craft. The result was that the Goffs Oak Lodge No 7169 was consecrated by the VW Bro The Rev. Dr. Joseph Moffett. The first Worshipful Master was W. Bro P G Langford, PAGDC, Past Provincial Grand Treasurer. The central theme of the Crest is the old oak tree which, prior to its destruction, had stood in the centre of the village; however, a new sapling has since been planted in its place.

Loads more from Goffs Oak
At its installation meeting last November the Goffs Oak Lodge No 7169 was proud to 'do it again’!
For the second year running Assistant PGM Brian Tierney went away with a hefty sum of money for the Grand Charity’s 2009 Festival. This time the sum was £3,500, only made possible because of the unstinting work of charity steward, Bro P.M.Twaites, who, in this his first year in office, managed to cajole over £4,000 from members (and ever-willing families and friends). Not to be outdone, the Goffs Oak LoI then surprised the APGM with another cheque towards the 2009 Appeal, this time for £1,500.
