Brian Tierney MBE PSGD

Assistant Provincial Grand Master

Brian Tierneywas Initiated 41 years ago in The Grove Park Lodge No. 2732 and has never missed a meeting of the Lodge in that time.  Brian is of course well known in a number of other degrees, particularly the Mark.  For some years now he has been the organiser of the Royal Arch Masonic Speakers Panel and many Lodges and Chapters have heard Brian speak himself.  Although he is now officially an OAP, Brian is still working full time as a Building Surveyor and just two weeks before the recent Annual Provincial Meeting completed 53 years working for the same company, an achievement seldom claimed.

Brian was the National President of The Federation of Master Builders from 1996 to 1998 and has given a lifetime of voluntary service in supporting Training and Further Education for which he was awarded the MBE in 1998.

Asked what else he did in his spare time, Brian says he likes visiting antique fairs, researching the history of building, taking the grandchildren to France, cooking and just for the record, does not like gardening!

Brian says that he is already thoroughly enjoying the duties of an APGM.  The welcome and support afforded by Lodges and members is most encouraging and he feels privileged to be part of the 'Provincial Executive Team' and be able to serve the Province of Hertfordshire.  The challenges ahead, particularly the 2009 Festival for The Grand Charity, are exciting.
