Lodge History

Several Members of the Venturer Lodge No. 7897 (Chingford, Essex) living in the SW. area of Hertfordshire, wished to have a similar Lodge in Herts., consisting mainly of Brethren working with or for the Scout Movement. The Lodge has developed a number of distinct customs and traditions over the years, largely influenced by the Scout connections, e.g. the summer meeting is in Scout uniform, and a kudu horn, believed to have belonged to Lord Robert Baden-Powell, is blown at the Festive Board. The Lodge is a Member of the Kindred Lodges Association, which comprises some twenty‑five similar Lodges and periodically acts as host to large meetings of that body.
